Organised by our Activities coordinators, a group of our residents recently enjoyed a fantastic day out in Paihia aboard Darryl’s Lunch Cruise together with a group from Metlifecare Oakridge Retirement Village.
For some, it was their first time on a cruise — though many of were keen sailors in their younger days, which bought back lots of special memories.
The cruise was filled with laughter and light-hearted moments, including a fun icebreaker where each resident donned the captain’s hat and introduced themselves to the group. It was a wonderful way to spark conversation and build connections.
The beautiful Bay of Islands scenery, combined with delicious food and great company, made for a day to remember. The joy, camaraderie, and shared memories left everyone smiling — and we've already been asked when the next trip is.
