In-House Accountant (30 hours)

Our fabulous accountant is leaving us soon, so we need someone special to replace her.

We are a dynamic, thriving Retirement Village and Care Facility in Kerikeri.  We employ approximately 140 people and are home to close to 200 people.  We are a charitable company governed by 6 Directors.

This vital role is responsible for managing all the internal accounting processes.  Under the terms of the act and the regulations we are bound by our accounts are reasonably complex so familiarity with the retirement and aged care sectors would be advantageous.

At the minimum you’ll need a high level of technical accounting proficiency with at least 5 years experience. You will be highly organised and timeously manage analysis of financial and non-financial data.

To work here you’ll need excellent interpersonal relationships and an ability to empathise with the older adult.

Familiarity with Xero, IMS and Microsoft Office are essential.

Kerikeri Retirement Village Limited (KRVL) is looking for a new director to fill a vacancy created by retirement of an incumbent. We are seeking someone that has a good understanding of governance, has a passion for aged care in our community, and has skills and experience that could assist with guiding this important community owned asset into the future.

KRVL is a not for profit charitable company jointly owned by the Kerikeri Village Community Trust and Presbyterian Support Northern. It is the only Retirement Village in Kerikeri that offers a full continuum of care with its 66 resthome, hospital, and dementia beds supporting the occupants of residents in 119 independent living units and others within our Kerikeri community. Staff number 140, our Quality Health NZ accreditation is at the highest possible certification, and generally the Village is regarded amongst the best of its size and structure in rural NZ. There are plans for further expansion within the current development zone.
