New appointment to Kerikeri Retirement Village Board

Kate Donley has been appointed to the board of Kerikeri Retirement Village Ltd, representing shareholder Presbyterian Support Northern (PSN). She brings significant health, social and aged care expertise to the position, along with extensive governance experience.

Ms Donley also serves on the Boards of Mercy Hospice, PSN and Auckland’s St Columba Presbyterian Church, and previously with elder support system provider Virtual Village and ADHD New Zealand.

She also served on the Board of aged residential care provider HBH Senior Living, an aged care charitable company with multiple sites and service offerings, including social housing,

She provides a range of business development, general management and governance services through her firm, Kate Donley Consulting. Before this she led Auckland-based Crawford Medical Centre through the pandemic, re-shaping operations and growing the profitability of this GP clinic, aged and specialist care provider.

Ms Donley moved from corporate roles into the community sector after a close friend died from cancer.

“From that point I needed my work to be for social good,” she said. “I’m therefore delighted to have joined Kerikeri Retirement Village and to be able to contribute to this charitable company. It’s important to me that we continue to provide affordable people-centred and community-led retirement living and care options, as an alternative to the bigger for-profit players with deep pockets.”

Kerikeri Retirement Village Limited is a Charitable Company. It is owned jointly and equally by the Kerikeri Village Community Trust and PSN, a charitable social services provider. The board of directors comprises a mix of shareholder representatives and independent directors.
