The site was blessed with by Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Rehia Chairman Kipa Munro. This was followed by a moving waiata by Village staff and residents before Mike Simm, Chairman of the Kerikeri Retirement Village Board, enthusiastically set to with a spade.
Earthworks started immediately and it's anticipated that the project will be completed by April 2020.
