The Potting Shed Group meets every Thursday at 10.30am, on The Village Green for gardening chit chat, morning tea & biscuits, garden safari walks, sowing seeds, creative gardening and some vitamin D. All in all, it s great for participant's health and wellbeing.
The day always begins with a coffee and a chat before the day’s activity is revealed.
Each week brings something new and gardening related. The group are a creative lot and have recently enjoyed:
- Creating hanging baskets which now adorn theTui courtyard garden
- Sowing autumn/winter veggie seeds. The seedlings were then planted in the Pavilion vegetable garden during a working bee, and the veggies will be there for everyone to enjoy
- Sweet pea teepees were made which we look forward to seeing blossom in the sprin
- Lavender was dried and used to make scented lavender bags to hang in wardrobes or placed in drawers
- Autumn leaves and flowers were pressed, dried & and made into bookmarks which are being sold at Reception
