Kerikeri Village

We had a wheely good time!

We absolutely love the relationship we have with the Kerikeri Kindergarten and once a month they bring a small group of children to visit. Our Activities Coordinator, Karen Hawtin, came up with ‘Wheelies Day’ where residents and children arrived on bicycles, mobility scooters, walkers, prams and anything else with wheels… ready to roll!  It was barely ordered chaos but so heartwarming to see the littlies connect with our residents.

And because we like to reciprocate, we visit the Kindy every month. On a recent visit  we enjoyed cooking dinner over a brazier.

We believe in the value of connection, and one of the most powerful ways to foster that connection is through intergenerational play. As well as being a ton of fun, it has profound benefits, helping to build understanding, reduce isolation, and encourage mutual respect.
